Henry Kiem

Infrastructure and developer-tools engineer. Works on the systems other engineers build on: infrastructure-as-code adopted by game studios, version-control tooling for AI coding agents, and resilience engineering for production platforms at enterprise scale.

Work Experience

Senior Consultant

March 2026 to present

Zeptta · Seattle, WA

  • Sole engineer on an AWS Resilience Hub implementation covering 50+ production services across four product verticals, writing all Terraform for the deployment. Derived service definitions, user journeys, and resilience policies from infrastructure tagging and EKS namespace structure, working with service owners and domain leads in three countries to settle what belonged to each service while the platform was mid-migration.
  • Trained the client's staff resilience and security analyst, new to both Resilience Hub and Terraform, to own and extend the deployment after the engagement.
  • Reported bugs blocking infrastructure-as-code deployment and cross-account administration in the rebuilt service; the AWS service team shipped fixes during the engagement.
  • Extending the deployment into additional domains and integrating AWS Fault Injection Service, running game days against the same service definitions with experiments codified in Terraform.

Solutions Architect

December 2022 to March 2026

AWS for Games · Seattle, WA

  • Led development of the Cloud Game Development Toolkit (105 stars, 46 forks), an open-source IaC repository for deploying Unreal Engine Horde, Cloud DDC, and Perforce on AWS, setting its component architecture, contribution standards, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation — a contribution model that brought outside studio engineers up to core-team scale, including 24 merged pull requests from game studio Secret Dimension.
  • Built the original proof of concept for an MCP server connecting AI coding agents to Perforce P4 version control and delivered it to Perforce, who productized it as their official p4mcp-server, now community-maintained at roughly 2,200 monthly downloads.
  • Advised game studios including EA, Warner Brothers, and Riot Games on cloud build infrastructure and DevOps architecture.
  • Presented games DevOps patterns to 100+ attendees at UnrealFest 2024 and delivered chalk talks at AWS re:Invent 2024 (GAM304) and 2025 (IND354).
